Exam and eligibility details

L&I license in 9 categories; Category 01 (general) covers all conveyance types. Routes: 3 years / 5,400 hours verified conveyance work experience plus 432 hours of qualifying education and the state exam, OR completion of a nationally recognized training program (NEIEP, or NAEC CET/CAT) with its mechanic exam, which exempts the state exam. Application fee $161.65.
