Exam and eligibility details

Elevator Safety Act: everyone engaged in design, construction, inspection, maintenance and repair of elevators must hold a NYS license (elevator mechanic, accessibility lift technician, elevator inspector), issued by the NYS Department of Labor. Mechanics work under a licensed elevator contractor. All license types valid 2 years from issuance.
