ASME Certificate of Authorization
ASME's certification of a manufacturer's or assembler's quality control system, which entitles the organization to apply the ASME Certification Mark with a designator. It certifies a company, not a person, and it is not a welding qualification.

- ASME S Designator (Power Boilers)
The Section I power boiler scope of the ASME Certificate of Authorization, alongside the A, E, M, PP and PRT designators.
- ASME U Designator (Pressure Vessels)
The Section VIII Division 1 pressure vessel scope of the ASME Certificate of Authorization, alongside UM and PRT; Division 2 uses U2 and high pressure vessels use U3.
