Stationary Engineer / Boiler Operator License

The license to operate a boiler plant, issued by a state or a city and never by ASME or the National Board. Thresholds, class ladders, exams and renewal cycles differ by jurisdiction: New York City licenses high-pressure boiler operating engineers, Minnesota runs a statewide Special/Second/First/Chief ladder, and Chicago licenses stationary engineers municipally.
